About DecentralGPU

We are an independent engineering group tracking the emergence of decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) for artificial intelligence and graphics workloads.

The problem we solve

The generative AI boom created a global shortage of high-end GPU accelerators. Centralized hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) capitalized by enforcing strict quotas, demanding multi-year enterprise commitments, and billing steep markups on on-demand instances.

At the same time, decentralized networks like Render, io.net, and Akash aggregated tens of thousands of underutilized GPUs worldwide, offering compute at up to 75% less cost. However, the DePIN space has suffered from fragmented documentation, unverified claims, and confusing tokenomics.

DecentralGPU.com exists to provide developer-first clarity: transparent hourly rates, side-by-side architecture comparisons, and zero marketing hype.

Core editorial pillars

1. Total editorial independence

No sponsored rankings or paid verdicts

No compute network can buy a higher ranking, change an editorial verdict, or alter our benchmark scores. If a network experiences downtime or fails our quality verification, we document it openly.

2. Reproducible, audited pricing

Real data over marketing estimates

Every rate listed on DecentralGPU references an on-chain lease transaction, public order book, or active provider catalog. We display a visible audit timestamp and link to the raw source.

3. Full transparency

Clear tradeoffs for engineering teams

DePIN is not a magic wand: clustering over WAN links is slower than AWS InfiniBand pods, and residential nodes require fault-tolerant containers. We highlight limitations with the same rigor as cost advantages.
