Network architecture & ecosystem
Render Network is a leading decentralized GPU network founded by OTOY, originally designed for distributed 3D rendering and now expanded into generative AI inference, NeRFs, and spatial computing. It connects node operators with spare consumer and workstation GPU capacity to digital creators and ML engineers requiring scalable graphics and compute power.
Architecture note: Hybrid model with on-chain settlement and governance on Solana, paired with off-chain proof-of-render verification and secure containerized worker daemons.
Key strengths
- •Deep integration with industry-standard graphics pipelines including OctaneRender, Cinema4D, and Blender
- •Massive decentralized inventory of high-end consumer GPUs (NVIDIA RTX 4090, 3090) offering high compute-per-dollar
- •Fast, low-cost job settlement powered by Solana and the Burn-and-Mint Equilibrium (BME) economic model
- •Established multi-year operational track record with millions of frames successfully rendered
Limitations & tradeoffs
- •Limited support for tightly coupled multi-node InfiniBand clusters required for frontier LLM pre-training
- •Variable node latency depending on individual residential or studio internet uplink speeds
- •Primarily optimized for batch job dispatching rather than persistent Kubernetes cluster management
Target workloads
3D Rendering & VFXAI Inference & Image GenNeRFs & Gaussian SplattingVideo Transcoding
